If you are from anywhere close to my generation then the passing of John Hughes was a sad event. While his movies may not go down on the AFI golden list, he gave us stories that were entertaining, memorable, and that we could relate to.
If there was one person in my youth that could compete with my idolization of Zack Morris, it was Ferris Bueller.
One of the scenes I think of first when I think of John Hughes. "Automobiiiile?"
You just cannot beat cheesy 80s music montages.
