Manage the Game (ˈma-nij thə ˈgām) phr.
1. For a quarterback to be able to hand off and complete a few passes without fumbling or throwing an interception. To not be a complete detriment to the team. (Often used as a backhanded compliment)
2. For an offensive coordinator to develop a successful methodical game plan.

After weeks of throwing costly interceptions, New York Jets coach Eric Mangini has asked quarterback Brett Favre to stop sucking simply manage the game.
