Not Dave Bing, Bob Lanier, Bill Laimbeer, Vinnie "The Microwave" Johnson, Joe Dumars, Isiah Thomas, or Chauncey Billups hold the Detroit Pistons franchise record for points in a fourth quarter. Will Bynum, the second year player out of Georgia Tech holds that distinction. Bynum poured in 26 points in the final quarter of the Pistons' 104-97 win that will most likely prove the final curtain for the playoff chances for Charlotte. The Bobcats held a one point margin going into the final quarter, but as is so often the case this year, they could not find a way to close the game. The loss puts the Cats at 34-43 and 3 games back of Detroit who now holds the tiebreaker between the two. Not much was expected from the Bobcats this year but after wheeling and dealing players Larry Brown had a squad he wanted to take forward, the team just needs more time and experience. While this year's result is a disappointment, having a lottery pick and giving the team time to practice and go through training camp together should yield playoff results next year.
Equally deflating was the loss by the Lady Cats in the NBA Dancers Bracket to Miami 55%-44%.
